My Obsession Monday: Velvet Knee High Boots

October 2017 - Velvet Zara Boots - Cover.jpg

Happy #MyObsessionMonday!

Fall is my favourite season – I get to wear boots and layer up while enjoying the cooler weather. I love looking for new boots to rock and this time around, I wanted a pair of statement boots.

What I really like about these blue velvet boots from Zara are that they have a really nice arch and heel shape. Those are usually the two things that I look for first. The blue colour is also very easy to pair with different outfit options so I’m looking forward to wearing it more throughout the season. This long weekend was the perfect weather to start wearing boots so I wore it out to my weekend day trip to the wineries!

Zara Over the Knee High Heel Boots in Blue Velvet ($99.90 – these boots are now marked as a “special price” item and is priced at $49.99!)

Here are some fall style inspiration pictures from Pinterest – love how these ladies are rocking their knee-high boots!

I went to the Vineland wineries for the first time and it was so stunning there! Angels Gate was my favourite out of the 3 that I went to. I’ve been wanting to expand my red wine appreciation and what better way than to do some wine tastings at all the wineries we have in Ontario. As I try the same type of wine at each of the wineries, I start to figure out which ones I like. At Angels Gate, I really enjoyed the Cabernet Merlot. It’s a great one to enjoy during the holidays!

All the wineries look stunning, very quaint and smaller in size compared to some of the ones from Niagara on the Lake (although those ones are impressive too!). The views are so beautiful. The second winery I went to was Tawse Winery. I LOVE rieslings and this one was so delicious, I picked up a bottle! The Gamay was also great too since they’re running low on the 2015Ā bottles, we thought it was great to pick up one of those as well.

The last stop was to Fieldings Estate WineryĀ – such a beautiful place there. I love that you can sit out and overlook the vineyard while enjoying a cheese platter and some delicious wine. We didn’t have enough time to try the cheese but will definitely try it next time!

Zara Check Dress

Sept 2017 - 2 Looks Zara Check Dress - Cover.jpg

Zara has been clearing out their summer pieces over the last little while and I must say, they honestly have the best sales! Usually, when the sale starts, the sizes are all available but it quickly gets picked up by those who keep an eye out for their seasonal sales and the sizes run low as you are going through the pages online! So if you see something you like, don’t even think twice and pick them up first, you can always return them later. That’s another thing I like about Zara, their return policy and even their mobile app are both so seamless.

As I was returning a couple things back at the store, I didn’t have the intention to shop some more at the time but I saw this loose flounce dress sticking out of the mangled clothes racks (as expected during their sale season). I took a quick glimpse at the price tag and saw that it was less than $20 so I couldn’t resist! This is also perfect for the cooler weather that is right around the corner. I can wear this with tall boots! I really like these types of short, loose flounce dress. It looks great with all different types of shoes and it’s also super flattering.Ā See how I styled it below in two different ways that are great for a day to night look.

2 Looks: Summer Floral Dress

Sept 2017 - Zara Floral Dress - Cover.jpg

Wedding season is wrapping up for me and I’m finally getting a moment to take a break. This year has been a busy one, I had the honour to be in the bridal party for 3 of the 4 weddings that I attended. I will share with you my experience and photos from all 3 weddings once the professional photos start rolling in! Just in August, I went to an intimate wedding for a good friend that I have known since my elementary school days. I had such a great time and celebrated their marriage with a bunch of my friends.

I bought this floral Zara dress for the wedding and had to fight off the urge to wear it before the wedding. See how I put together the look for the wedding and also how I would dress it down.

Look #1: Wedding Getup

I paired this bold, floral dress with nude strappy heels and a peach coloured jewelled necklace so that it adds a nice touch to the dress without competing with the print.

My Obsession Monday: Suede Crossbody Wallet

Sept 2017 - Zara Suede Crossbody - Cover.jpg

Happy Monday everyone!

I’ve been looking for a petite, black going out bag that is functional for quite some time now. It seems like an easy task but when you are looking for a staple item that’s not going to be of style after one season, it’s worth taking the time to look for the right one. This Zara Split Suede Crossbody Wallet instantly caught my eye when I saw it online and I fell in love even more after seeing it in person! It comes in a second colour, a khaki green with gunmetal hardware but I knew I’d get more use with this one. The gold and black look so sexy together, especially with the large wristlet ring hardware. Ā The design of this bag is so well done! See how you can wear it in two different ways.

Zara Medium Heel Pointed Shoes

The Perfect Work Shoe.jpg

I found the perfect work shoes that will give my feet a break from all the 4″ heels that I’m used to wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE wearing heels but there’s always a little voice in the back of my head that keeps nagging at me to switch into lower heels once in a while so that I don’t damage my feet (permanently). Also, bunions run inĀ my family so that in itself should be enough of a warning for me to take it easy on the heels.

I’ve had my eyes on these babies for some time now. You guys know how I am with Zara, they ALWAYS get me…every. single.season. I believe these were already available during Fall but they kept running out of my size until they restocked around the holidays and I was lucky enough to snag a pair during their holiday sale. Believe it or not, they were on sale for $25.99 (SCORE!). Unfortunately, they’re sold out now but hopefully they’ll bring them back!

The nude colour is so versatile, even more versatile than black or grey. The colourĀ along with the pointed toe really elongates your legs and they’re not too flashy, making it easy for the office. The chunky, block heel in the plastic material addsĀ a bit of edge so they’re more than just a basic pair of nude heels. Finally, it’s a medium-low heel, which is perfect for me to swap out the heels when I need to give my feet a break. I’ve already gotten a few compliments on them, hope they bring them back!

CMA Gala – Award Night

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

Hi Lovelies!

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the CMA Gala with my Tangerine work family. Although we didn’t win an award this time around, it was great to be surrounded by industry professionals who were recognized for their creativity and hard work. I felt inspiredĀ and had a ton of fun bonding with the team (they’re quite amazing). Keep scrolling for outfit details and more pictures from that night.

The Little Black Dress:

I found this dress at M for Mendocino the day before the CMA Gala. It was pure luck since I don’t always shop at that store but I thought I’d pop by. After trying on a few dresses, the one that was on sale with an additional 30% off fit the best. It ended up being less than $30! I’m not sure if they’re still available at the store but since it was only a week ago, maybe it’s still there!

You can never go wrong with another LBD. The thick criss-crossĀ straps are what makes this dress and I love the open back too. With the back of this dress, I had to wear a stick-on bra but I couldn’t find the one I have the morning of the gala so I had to purchase a new one. I’ve been told that the La Senza Lightly Lined Feather-Lite Backless BraĀ one is pretty good so out of desperation, I decided to take the plunge and drop $70 for them. I know I know, it’s double the cost of my dress but don’t judge me. I wore it throughout the whole night and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all and it stuck on pretty well. Now I know why it cost that much! I do recommend it if you often wear backless tops or dresses, this one is way better than the one that I misplaced.
