Zara Check Dress

Sept 2017 - 2 Looks Zara Check Dress - Cover.jpg

Zara has been clearing out their summer pieces over the last little while and I must say, they honestly have the best sales! Usually, when the sale starts, the sizes are all available but it quickly gets picked up by those who keep an eye out for their seasonal sales and the sizes run low as you are going through the pages online! So if you see something you like, don’t even think twice and pick them up first, you can always return them later. That’s another thing I like about Zara, their return policy and even their mobile app are both so seamless.

As I was returning a couple things back at the store, I didn’t have the intention to shop some more at the time but I saw this loose flounce dress sticking out of the mangled clothes racks (as expected during their sale season). I took a quick glimpse at the price tag and saw that it was less than $20 so I couldn’t resist! This is also perfect for the cooler weather that is right around the corner. I can wear this with tall boots! I really like these types of short, loose flounce dress. It looks great with all different types of shoes and it’s also super flattering.¬†See how I styled it below in two different ways that are great for a day to night look.

bareMinerals Preview

Hi lovelies!

Happy Weekend! I’m winding down from a busy week and just recuperating from a wedding on Friday. I wish I could stay up late and still feel the same way as I did back in my early 20’s but that’s just not the case anymore. Who am I kidding!? Anyways – let’s not get carried away! But as I age, I do hope that I age gracefully (and slowly haha) and that means taking care of myself and putting my health first above everything else.

A¬†few weeks ago I got invited to the bareMinerals preview and had the opportunity to try out some of their newest cosmetics and skincare products that will be coming to the Canadian market. Before arriving at the preview presentation, I stopped by ODIN HUS¬†(check out more photos here!)¬†to grab some caffeine and a bite to eat. Ever since I discovered that cafe, I like to hang out there once in a while when I’m in the area. The architecture of the interior is beautifully designed¬†and the openness of the space makes it comfortable¬†to stay there and relax.

To give you a slight background on my skin, it’s really hypersensitive and quite dry for the most part. I’ve struggled with eczema ever since I was a child and developed sensitivity to different things as I got older so I’m always very careful about putting new products on my face, whether it is skincare or makeup. I did a little swatch test of this¬†bareMinerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion¬†($60 – available at Sephora in stores and online) on my face before applying it all over. It’s already half the battle if I don’t get a reaction so when I got the green light, I applied it thoroughly all over my face and have been using it day and night over the past couple weeks. What I like about it is the smell – usually anything with fragrance or a strong smell will give me a rash but this one didn’t! It smells very citrusy and the¬†formula¬†is very light-weight which makes it great for summer. The 3 key ingredients are Life Long Herb, California Poppy and Lampuyang Ginger – to help awaken the skin and maintain a healthy complexion. After¬†using this for a while, I noticed my skin looking brighter and more awake. My skin has been really taking a hard hit from the lack of sleep and stress from adult-life but this has definitely helped! Let me know in the comments below¬†if you’ve been using this and what your thoughts are.

My Obsession Monday: Forever 21 Romper

My Obsession Monday - Forever 21 Romper.jpg

Happy Monday lovelies!

The sun’s out and it’s getting me excited about Spring! There may still be another month or so of winter jackets and Sorels, but it’s never too early to start looking at¬†spring outfit inspiration! Am I right?

I love pieces that are great on their own and also versatile enough to¬†transition from season to season. That is why I am obsessed with this Forever 21 Crinkled Surplice Romper in Olive for only $19.90! It comes in 3 colours – all neutrals! The¬†peach colour may be a little too light for my complexion but I would definitely pick up the black one as well (if they restock)! The lightweight material makes it easy to layer pieces over and under the romper without making it feel too frumpy. I sported this piece with tights and tall boots at the Ever New Spring Preview (post will go up next week!) since it’s still a bit chilly but when it warms up, I’ll rock it¬†with strappy sandals and open toe shoes!
