Spring is finally here! I’m so excited for the warm weather, it’s been tough transitioning back into the cold weather ever since my Bali trip. You’re probably wondering why I haven’t shared any photos on my blog yet but I promise you they’re coming! This year has been hectic with work, weddings (I’m in 3!) and bachelorette trips – it’s making this year fun but leaving me with no time to blog.
Anyways, back to this polka dot dress. I absolutely love the look, it’s such a perfect transition piece. The viscose fabric is light and airy so you can layer it or wear the dress by itself. Since the weather is still chilly in Toronto, I’ve been pairing this with tights and boots while accessorizing it with a scarf for extra warmth. For when the weather warms up, I would wear this dress with a pair of light-coloured sandals and summer hat to break up the black. I’m going to be honest, I was skeptical at first about the polka dots as it’s not a print that I own but the cutting and flow of the dress sold me! I loved it even more when I tried the dress on.
ZARA Polka Dot Dress ($49.90)
Tights: Rachel’s Box – I got a chance to try a few pairs of tights from Rachel’s Box and I love the quality and fit. I wear these Black Sheer Tight the most, they’re sexy and comfortable. What’s also great about these tights is that you can get a subscription, first complete the style questionnaire as the tights are pre-selected based on your style and then choose the frequency of the delivery.
Shoes: Aldo – I bought these boots last year but these Aldo Jeffres Boots are very similar!
I’ll be traveling soon and have a few trips planned for this year! Ekkk… I’m so excited! Next month I’m going to somewhere hot (stay tuned for the reveal!) so I’ve been on the hunt for some cute shoes that I can bring along with me on the trip. Forever 21 has really been stepping up their shoe game and I’ve noticed that in recent years, they started carrying shoes with better quality and some of the styles are super cute!
Faux Leather Toe Ring Sandals in Nude ($12.90) – This one will be easy for slipping on and off by the pool or at the beach. The nude colour will match any bikini!
Faux Leather Platform Sandals in Tan ($21.99 – ON SALE) – I wanted these for the nights where we’ll be dressing up for a night out or a fancy dinner. The whole shoe is made of 100% polyurethane so humidity and water shouldn’t be an issue.
Tribal Print Toe Ring Sandals: $29.90
Lace-Up Espadrilles: $26.90
Genuine Suede Lace-Up Sandals: $39.90
How cute are these?! I wouldn’t mind having all 3 for my trip…or just to have in generally. I love them!
Faux Suede Platform Heels: $39.90
Faux Suede Mules: $29.90
Faux Suede Slides: $22.90
These shoes are a knockoff of the Mansur Gavriel ones and I love that they’re so simple and easy – all 3 heights are great for different occasions. Forever 21 just started carrying these and they’re already selling out! I wanted the light grey and the baby blue ones but they ran out of my size. Maybe they’ll bring them back when it’s ACTUALLY summer. I got the Faux Suede Mules and will probably start wearing them in the office so that I can break them in before wearing them out in the summer!
I love how the below ladies styled these shoes. Check out my Pinterest account @MyBlancCanvas for more style inspo.
I found the perfect work shoes that will give my feet a break from all the 4″ heels that I’m used to wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE wearing heels but there’s always a little voice in the back of my head that keeps nagging at me to switch into lower heels once in a while so that I don’t damage my feet (permanently). Also, bunions run in my family so that in itself should be enough of a warning for me to take it easy on the heels.
I’ve had my eyes on these babies for some time now. You guys know how I am with Zara, they ALWAYS get me…every. single.season. I believe these were already available during Fall but they kept running out of my size until they restocked around the holidays and I was lucky enough to snag a pair during their holiday sale. Believe it or not, they were on sale for $25.99 (SCORE!). Unfortunately, they’re sold out now but hopefully they’ll bring them back!
The nude colour is so versatile, even more versatile than black or grey. The colour along with the pointed toe really elongates your legs and they’re not too flashy, making it easy for the office. The chunky, block heel in the plastic material adds a bit of edge so they’re more than just a basic pair of nude heels. Finally, it’s a medium-low heel, which is perfect for me to swap out the heels when I need to give my feet a break. I’ve already gotten a few compliments on them, hope they bring them back!
Thanks for reading! xx
It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to put some time into My Blanc Canvas and I’ve really missed it! On the flip side, I’ve been good (saving some $$) and haven’t shopped very much. The weather has also been suprisingly warm for mid-October in Toronto, so it hasn’t put the pressure/encouragement on for scouting out fall staples.
This is my first bomber jacket and I’m loving it!
I have totally been MIA for the last month or so, but for a very good reason so I hope you all understand!! I’ve missed blogging and I’ll be getting back into the groove very soon. I started a new job recently and it’s such a refreshing change of environment – the team, company and work are all amazing!
Spring is around the corner and Zara came out with so many cute pieces! Here are a few items that I bought over the course of this month – what do you think?
Hey guys! Today’s #MyObsessionMonday is a sequel to my #MondayMantra post! I love a bold python print in a neutral colour palette. These strappy, lace-up heels are so versatile and just pure (kickass) perfection. I’ve put together 5 reasons why you should invest in a pair as well!
