Zara Medium Heel Pointed Shoes

The Perfect Work Shoe.jpg

I found the perfect work shoes that will give my feet a break from all the 4″ heels that I’m used to wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE wearing heels but there’s always a little voice in the back of my head that keeps nagging at me to switch into lower heels once in a while so that I don’t damage my feet (permanently). Also, bunions run in my family so that in itself should be enough of a warning for me to take it easy on the heels.

I’ve had my eyes on these babies for some time now. You guys know how I am with Zara, they ALWAYS get me…every. single.season. I believe these were already available during Fall but they kept running out of my size until they restocked around the holidays and I was lucky enough to snag a pair during their holiday sale. Believe it or not, they were on sale for $25.99 (SCORE!). Unfortunately, they’re sold out now but hopefully they’ll bring them back!

The nude colour is so versatile, even more versatile than black or grey. The colour along with the pointed toe really elongates your legs and they’re not too flashy, making it easy for the office. The chunky, block heel in the plastic material adds a bit of edge so they’re more than just a basic pair of nude heels. Finally, it’s a medium-low heel, which is perfect for me to swap out the heels when I need to give my feet a break. I’ve already gotten a few compliments on them, hope they bring them back!

My first watch, Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas + Contest!

MyBlancCanvas - JORD Watch - Cover.jpg

Happy New Year!

This is my very first watch…and first 2017 blog post! The New Year has been pretty great so far and I hope you all have an amazing year. The plan for me is to blog more this year so keep following to be part of all the fun!

I’ve been looking for a watch for some time now – I wanted something light, sleek and minimalistic. When I was given the opportunity to pick out my own JORD Wood Watch, I chose the Frankie 35 in Dark Sandalwood and Slate. I love the look of this watch, the rose gold works so well with the slate colour. Keep scrolling for more details and pictures of this watch along with some Valentine’s Day gift ideas. Also, make sure to enter the JORD Wood Watch contest below!

CMA Gala – Award Night

Processed with VSCO with a5 preset

Hi Lovelies!

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the CMA Gala with my Tangerine work family. Although we didn’t win an award this time around, it was great to be surrounded by industry professionals who were recognized for their creativity and hard work. I felt inspired and had a ton of fun bonding with the team (they’re quite amazing). Keep scrolling for outfit details and more pictures from that night.

The Little Black Dress:

I found this dress at M for Mendocino the day before the CMA Gala. It was pure luck since I don’t always shop at that store but I thought I’d pop by. After trying on a few dresses, the one that was on sale with an additional 30% off fit the best. It ended up being less than $30! I’m not sure if they’re still available at the store but since it was only a week ago, maybe it’s still there!

You can never go wrong with another LBD. The thick criss-cross straps are what makes this dress and I love the open back too. With the back of this dress, I had to wear a stick-on bra but I couldn’t find the one I have the morning of the gala so I had to purchase a new one. I’ve been told that the La Senza Lightly Lined Feather-Lite Backless Bra one is pretty good so out of desperation, I decided to take the plunge and drop $70 for them. I know I know, it’s double the cost of my dress but don’t judge me. I wore it throughout the whole night and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all and it stuck on pretty well. Now I know why it cost that much! I do recommend it if you often wear backless tops or dresses, this one is way better than the one that I misplaced.

My Obsession Monday: Bomber Jacket

Zara Bomber Jacket - 1.jpg

Hi Lovelies!

It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to put some time into My Blanc Canvas and I’ve really missed it! On the flip side, I’ve been good (saving some $$) and haven’t shopped very much. The weather has also been suprisingly warm for mid-October in Toronto, so it hasn’t put the pressure/encouragement on for scouting out fall staples.

This is my first bomber jacket and I’m loving it!

Wedding Style

Hi everyone!

Hope you had a great weekend! I went to a wedding on Saturday and because the ceremony and reception weren’t back-to-back, I was able to do an outfit change for the evening. I LOVE weddings, it’s such a happy moment shared between 2 lovebirds with their closest friends and family. I’ve known my friend since I was 11 so it was needless to say that it was an emotional moment – so happy for the newly wed couple! This is the first of many weddings that I have lined up for this year so I will be sharing more wedding looks and outfits in the upcoming months!

The Ceremony:

Top: Zara – This top is quite fitted and cropped, to make it appropriate for a wedding ceremony, I made sure to pair it with a flowy, high-waisted skirt with a little more length.

Skirt: Small boutique in Seoul, South Korea (I need to go back for some shopping – miss it so much there!). This skirt is one of my favourite statement pieces in my closet. ❤

Bag: Danier Leather

Shoes: Steve Madden (similar ones here, here & here)

Weekend Style: Earth Tones

Happy Saturday!

The weather is so beautiful throughout this week and it’s best to soak up the sun before the rain tomorrow. I wear a lot of heels to work so on the weekends, I try to give my feet a bit of rest and wear flats. Earth tones work really well together and you can see in this outfit, I mixed in khaki greens with neutrals and paired it with a bit of animal print on the shoes.Earth Tones - Weekday Style - IntroEarth Tones - Weekday Style - Bag

In love with this Banana Republic bag – it’s practical with lots of space and the gold detailing makes it easy to dress it up or down. Check out my My Obsession Monday post featuring this bag!

My Obsession Monday: Banana Republic Crossbody Bag

Happy Monday!

I fell in LOVE with this bag from Banana Republic as I was double-tapping away on Instagram. My first reaction was that it looks like the Chloe Small Faye bag! I am currently saving up for a Celine bag so I don’t have the thoughts of purchasing another designer bag besides that one in the near future. This crossbody Italian Suede Accordion Bag from Banana Republic is a fraction of the price of the Chloe one and I love the look and colour of this. It’s such a great summer bag – it also fits quite a bit!

Happy Wednesday!

I have totally been MIA for the last month or so, but for a very good reason so I hope you all understand!! I’ve missed blogging and I’ll be getting back into the groove very soon. I started a new job recently and it’s such a refreshing change of environment – the team, company and work are all amazing!

Spring is around the corner and Zara came out with so many cute pieces! Here are a few items that I bought over the course of this month – what do you think?
